[BEOTER's TELKGKAMB.J London, June 15. Thk cricket match, Australian v. Lancashire, was resumed to-day at Manchester. Tbe weather was fine, but the wicket was much cut up, owing to yesterday's rain. Tho Australians, with no wickctf* down for GO runs, continued their first innings, which closed for » total of 145, the highest scorers bein<r :— Jones, caught, 54 ; Scott, Ibw, 28 ; Trumble, bowled, 11 ; and Gnrrett, canpht, 22. For tbe home team Watson bowled well, taking five wickets for 50 runs. The Lancashire men went in, and were all disposed of for 4(5, Steel being the only man who reached double figures, namely 21 (caught). 0. P. Lankshiro was not out with nine. Being 99 runs behind, the home team followed on, and when the stumps were drawn they hnd scored 29 without the loss of a wicket. In the first innings of the | Englishmen Giffen bowled successfully, taking six wickets for 20. The attendance at the match was bad. June 16. The cricket match, Australians v. Lancashire, was resumed and concluded to-day. The home team, in their second innings, only succeeded in scoring 87 runs, and the visitors thus won the u.atch in one innings, with 12 runs to spare. The attendance was moderate, though tbe weather was fine. The highest scorer for Lancnshire was H. B. Steel, bowled, 24 runs. Tbe most prominent bowler was Giffen, who took (?) wickets for 40 runs. The following team to represent the players of England has been selected for the match, to take place at Nottingham on the 21st instant, and two following days, against the Australian cricketers :—Playeis: Barlow (Lancashire), Briggs (Lancashire), Barnes (Notts), Flowers (Notts), Gunn (Notts), Lee (York), Maurice Reed (Surrey), Scotton (Notts), Sherwin (Notts), Shrewsbury (Notts), and Ulyett (York).
