A Rood many entries were made for disposal by auction at the Durham Yards on Friday, bidding was brisk 'for those of a Rood utamp, and most of the lots were cleared. We quote : Hack* lrom £*> to €14 10s ; light harness horses, £9 to £14 ; draught tn.ires, from £20 10s to £32. Wool, hides, and skins. A limited number of hides wore pitched, but most of them were light and in indifferent order, consequently the highest price obtained was 3ijdperlb; inferior, 2\d ; skins, Is to Is Bd. Cattle : A largo number of fat beasts, principally from Tauranga district, have been brought forward ; stores in limited numbers and dairy stock in ample supply. The Newmarket Yards were well filled with fat beasts. Prices receded, as compared with with the previous week, from 10s to 20s per head. Stores unaltered in value. Dairy cows receded a little in price. Sheep : The Newmarket Yards were well filled on Tuehdav. The demand was steady throughout. Wethers sold at from 11s to 14* 3d ; ewes, from 9s 3d to 11s; lairbs, 10s 9d. Pigs : Very few yarded, and prices unaltered.

LON'DO.V MABKETS. London, June 15. — Consols have declined by | per cent., and are to-day quoted at 101 J. The market rate of discount has fallen | per cent., and is now at 1£ per cent., orls per cent below the bank rate. Adelaide wheat, ex store, remains at 355.

LONDON WOOL SALES. London, Juno 16.— The third series of colonial wool auctions opened to-day before a large attendance of home and foreign buyers. The catalogue comprised 12,400 bales, for which Rood competition was manifested, chiefly on foreign account. At the close of the sale, scoured wools ruled threepence, greasy fully twopence, _ and crossbred* one halfpenny per pound higher than at the close of the previous auctions. The present series of sales will close on the 29th proximo. The wool sales opened to-day. The joint catalnges of Messrs C. Balme and Jacobs and Co. comprised 12,700 bales one-third of which are New Zealand wools and onethird from New South Wales. There was a large attendance ot bidders and the bidding was excited. Merinos show an advanco upon last sales of 20 to 25 per cent., and crossbreeds range from 5 to 25 per cent. Foreign buyers* aie making large purchases.
