■* ;—; — The monthly meeting of the Board was held tin Tuesday, Messrs Houghton (chairman), Gillelt, Hewitt and Hughes being present Auctioneer's Fee. — The clerk of the Waipa Comity Council asked under what statute ■ the Board made the demand for payment of Mr McNicol's auction license fee. ,„ jSjjvkutimng ox Telegraph Poles.— Dr. Lempjn wrote acknowledging the Board's . resolution sustaining the objection to the proposal. Vogel hTiiEtrr. — The farmers rpsiding on the n>vrth west side of Cambudge sent in a requisition drawing the Board s attention to the bad state of Voircl-^treut to the bouudiiy of the Town Belt, and as it is the only way of access to the town, they asked that the necessary repairs bo done or they would be unable to get to Cainbndge during the winter. The petition was received but the Boaid were unable to comply with the request as no funds are available. Rath.— Mr Giliett muved that a rate of one shilling in the £ be stiuck for the year ending 31st March, 1887. Seconded by Mr Huches and carripd. Collector. —Mr J. P. Thomson was re»Appointed collector for the year. » Podndkbeper.— The sub-committee reported that they had concluded to recommend that the Board advertise for applications for tho office of poundkeeper. Mr Hughes said he had spoken to the poundkeopcr, who stated he had paid £11 into the Board and denied there had been any loss. The clerk replied that the pound had cost over £ol during the year and only £IL had been received, therefore there was A dead loss of £40. After considerable discussion Mr Hewitt'*, motion that applications be invited for tho situation of poundkeeper was carried. Mr Gillett moved that the terms on which the applications be received shall be as follows, the poundkeeper to pay all charges, including the ratfge, and to take all fees, that the advertisement shall not e\ceed one inch for each animal and that the charges for sending notices to the po«t oi newspaper be one shilling only, and that the engagement be for one year subject to a month's notice. Seconded by Mr Hughes and carred. The Rux.— lt was resolved to close the run on the loth instant. Charitable Aid Board.— The secretary of the Auckland Hospital sent an account for £24 14s Id, being the Board's contribution, adding u broad hint that it would be stopped out of subsidies if not paid. As there are no funds the account was held over. Accouxrs.— The following accounts were passed for payment. T. Ryan £13 4s 10 : The Waikato Times, £2 11s : W. Bartlett, £7 4s ; Wells n.nd Soutter, 10s lid. The Board then rose.
