The Government have received intimation that a portion of the Keraumdee Islands has been inhabited for iome years by Bell and Soni, but for what purposs ha« not transpired. The Legislative Council, in discussing the question of annexation yestordayi seemed disinclined to agree to | the acquisition, but deferred consideration till to-day, so that the Colonial Secretary could obtain further information upon the subject. The Government have received an offer to lease Kermadee Islands, concerning which nothing is really known since they have not been explored to any extent. *
