Kimberley Ooldflftld. Auckland, Monday Night. The schooner Orpheus sailed for Kimberley today with a miscellaneous cargo and half-a-dozen diggers.

Ship Desertion. The American Consul has recieved a telegram from Russell, stating that the sailors arrested from the whaler have made grave Allegation, regarding the death of the cooper, who died on board. The consul has sent down Mr Campbell (of Russell and Campbell), to assist the local consul in prosecuting a searching inquiry into the matter.

The Licensing Committee. The City North licensing committee refused to grant renewals to the Nevada, Thistle and Victoria Hotels, which had bars beyond those anthorised by the committee, who declared the decision of the K.M. re extra bars would not be binding on them, and adjourned the cases to enable the licensees to comply with their demands.
