Tlie leport stited that all the houses in tli^ town rli»tiict were wull and cleanly kept, and there were no complaints to bo in ulp. H. (Jillett, X.itional Hotel, renewal panted: K. Hewitt, Criterion Hotel, renewal granted ; J). O L.uiphlin, Masonic Hotel, reuew.il granted; R. Kiikwood, J)ukc of C.mibndgo, no aj)pearance of applicant. Application defeired for a fortnight, for Mr Kirkwood to appear. Tho chairman re.id the clause of the Act which stipulated that the holder of a license inu-t appear in person in support of his application, and added that the commissioners would not show any partiality, nor make "fish of one and fowl of another."
Rangiriri. The annual meeting of the Licensing Committee was held yesterday. An accommodation )icpn°e was granted to Mr Me Cullough Neil.
WhatawhataAt the fitting of the Committee on Satnrday, an accommodation license was granted to Mr Aithur Dawson, for the Whatawhata Hotel.
