Waikato Times Office, Friday. WAIKATO LIVK STOCK MARKETS. Mkjsrs W. J. Hunter and Co. Report : —At Hamilton on Wednesday, May 2Gth, there was the largest sale ever held here of horses, buggies, drays, &c, also a very large attendance of buyers from nil the out districts. There was very good competition, and a great lot of horses, &c, sold. We quote: Waggonette, £30; buggy, £18; spring cart and harness, £15 ; spring cart, £13 ; dairy cows, £5 to £5 ss; empty cows, £1 lOd to £2 10s; draught horses, from £12 to £21: hacks and buggy horses £4 to £10; pigs, 3s each. On Thursday, at Cambridge, we had a smaller number of cattle than usual yarded, beef especially being far short of requirements. Small f.it cow.s, £4 7s Gd ; calves, mixed sexes, 15s to £110s. We have sold privately during the week 50 bullocks at £b', 200 ewes m lamb at Bs, 100 wethers at 10s Gd.

Mr J. S. Blcklvnd Reports:—At Cambridge, on Saturday last, an unusually large quantity of poultry, pigs, potatoes, carrots, and oats, was offered, and sold at satisfactory prices. Fowls, Is Id to 2s> (id ; pigs, from 12s to 60s ; potatoes, 8s (id per bag; carrots, 3s Gd per bag; oat?, from 2s 2d to 2s 8d per bushel. Horses were offered in greater thau usual numbers, and many sold at an advance on late values. Good riding, from £G U. £10 ; coaching, £!» 10s; draughts, £12 to £20; weeds, from 20s to £410s. At Ohaupo, on Tuesday, about usual muster of cattle, and almost all sold. Dairy cows, from £3 10s to £5 15s ; Murimotu steers, being very choice, elicited spirited bidding, and all sold with the exception of one pen, at following prices :— £3 17a 6d, £3 18s Gd, £4, £4 6s; grown steers for turnips, £5 2s 6d, £5 7s Gd, and £510s; smaller steers, £3 10s to £4 7s 6d; yearling steers, £2 10s to £2 15s; ■teer calves, 31s; yearling heifers, £114s ; fresh empty cows. £2 10s ; fat cows, £3 10s to £5 ss; pen of fat steers, £610s: and nearly dry cows, from £2 15s to £3 10s. Sheep: 100 wethers in forward condition, 7s Gd; low conditioned ewes, 3s 6d; and 30 lambs, 7s 6d. At VVaitoa, on Thursday, the yards were again filled with a large number of very choice cattle, and prices were in accordance with the good quality. Prices were, pen of spayed heifers, almost beef, £3 4s; pen of rough steers, £2 17s Gd ; steers for turnips, £5, £5 2s (id, and £3 ss; fat cows, £4 ss; seven fat cows, £3 15s ; two fat cows, £4 10s ; Murimotu steers sold at £310s, £310s, £4 2s Gd, £4 5s ; pen of steer calves, £1 10s; pen of steer calves, very choice, £2; and pen of heifer calves, 17s. Sheep : two pens of fat wethers made 12s ; two pens of ewes in lamb, Gs. Horses : riding, £6 10s to £8 10s; coach horse, £9 10s; and a draught mare, £20.

Mr Alfred Buckland's Weekly KePORT.— At the Haymarket on Friday, May 21, loose fodder was in full supply, and prices ranged from 2s (id to 3s 9d the cwt., oats 2s (id the bushel, potatoes from Is fid to 3s 6d the cwt. Horse stock was in full numbers at lower values ; good medium draught, with trials, brought £14 to £15 each ; inferior horse stock at nominal prices. At the hide and skin sale on Tuesday, best hides brought 4Jd the lb, medium from 3id and upwards, tallow 13s 9d the cwt, sheepskins from 9d to Is 9d each. A moderate number of cattle were yarded at Papakura, principally quiet cows, and these sold freely at good prices. At Remuera on Thursday, dairy cows at their calving were in demand. Good animals brought from £7 to £10 each, and those of medium quality and backward springers were also in better inquiry. Other descriptions of store cattle were at late values. Fat cattle, in average supply, were dull of ■ale, prices lower, and ranged from 16s to 18s the lOOlbs ; about one-third of those yarded remained unsold. Well-fatted cows ■old better than good steers. Sheep, in short supply, advanced in price from Is fid to 2s each. Fat calves were numerous, and , sold well. Pigs of all descriptions were also in better demand, and advanced in price. Messrs. Hunter and Nolans Weeklt REPORT : Horses : Alarge number of a really good stamp have been brought forward, consequently there has been considerable activity in the market ; but young horses that some time ago would have reached half a century found purchasers. The Durham Yards were woli 11 lied on Friday. The shipment per Gairlnch were exceptionally good, and elicited brisk competition. Hacks sold at from £5 10s to £15 7s 6d ; light harness horses, £7 10s to £11 15s, light draught from £17 to £20, heavy draught £26 10». Wool, hides, and skins : There was an increased supply at the Durham Yards on Tuesday, and competition was brisk. We quote : Hides at from 3d to i\d per lb., skins from Is to Is lOd euch. Wool : Inferior 4d per lb, tallow £13 per ton. Cattle : The number brought forward was below the average. The demand was steady for dairy and fat stocks, but few stores offered. Prices for dairy cows at their profit and well-fatted oxen were sustained, and in exceptional instances an advance was given. The Newmarket Yard* were fairly supplied on Tuesday with dairy cows. Grown btore steers were wanted, but not forthcoming, and a larger number of fat beasts would have found purchasers at fully the previous week's rates." Dairy and store stock unaltered. Sheep : The number penned on Tue«day at the Newmarket Yards were insufficient for requirements, and there was an upward tendency in value. Best wethers sold at 16s each, lighter weights from 11s Cd to 15s Cd, ewes from 9s 6d to 12s. Pigs in short supply ; demand f:ood. Prices ranged from 2d to 3\d per lb. ive weight.
