In the Council nevcral sessional committees were appointed, and also a committee to devise the ba-t means for conffratulatinp the Queen on entering the fiftieth year of her reign. Mr Buckley moved the second reading of the Police Force Act. The Bill sought to dissever the Civil Police froir. the A.C. Force, consolidating former ordinances. Agreed to. Mr Buckley moved the second reading of tho Defence Bill. The motion was agreed to, and tho Council adjourned to Tuesday next.
