THP] NEW ZEALAND FROZEN MEAT AND STORAGE CO. (LIMITED), AUCKLAND. The Directors of this Company beg to state that it is now necessary to make application for Frozen Meat space for the season commencing in October next, and ending in May or June, ISS7. A similar notice to the present, issued last year, met with no response,*and resulted in loss to all interested, us it appeared from subsequent applications (received too late to secure space), that sufficient stock would have been [forthcoming. So far as the Compaay is concerned, it is not prepared to render itself liable by contracting for any shipping space, although in the event of its receiving applications from stock -owners for not less than two-thirds of the lowest quantity for which the shipping companies will agree to reserve room, it is willing to make itself liable for the remaining one -third. The following is the average of the prices realised in the London Markets for New Zealand Meat during the months of September, 1883, to March, 18SG, inclusive :—: — Lamb. Bkef. | Mutton'. ISB.I d d d September ... 4| November 6 4^ December ... 6 5} 4^ 188G January ... Gi| o\ 5 February .. , 7i 5~ 5j March ... 7i .U . Hi Note. — These averages have, in one or two cases, been prejudically affected by damaged condition. From these prices a deduction must be made of 3d per lb to cover all expenses, the value- of the skin and tallow being a further credit to owners. At present English prices arrangements can be made for advances equal to 4d per lb, less cost of freezing, freight and insurance, amounting to 2?d per lb, exclusive of the value of the skin, tallow, &c. Application must be made on or before the 31st instant. Forms to be obtained at the Company's office.
