SIR G. GREY'S NEW HEBRIDES RESOLUTIONS.
[BY TELEGRAPH.— PKK.SS ASSOCIATION'.] Wklmxgton, Wednesday, The fallowing were the chief points of the lengthy resolutions submitted to the House bv; Sir G. Grey this afternoon :—" : — " That New Zealand ha« no power or right to agree to any of the New Hebrides being taken possession of b.v any foreign pow«r and will not, directly or indirectly, assent to any such | action which she believes would be cruel and immoral ; that having no right to function such seizure or accession to the Now Hebrides, she will neither claim nor accept any equivalent nor concession in return for what she conceives would be an unjust tctj that this House cannot think tlfaf the necessities of the foreign pr>licy of the British Empire can demand the concessions so unjust to a friendly' and inoffensive people as those which arc proposed should be made by Great Britain to any other Power, nor can this House understand on what grounds a right is attributed to Great Britain to dispose of the lands, the property and destines of a friendly people who are ignorant of what is being done ; that this House cannot entertain the proposal of the French Government to the effect that France will cease transportation altogether in the Pacific if ahe is allowed to have the New Hebrides ; that a loyal address be presented to the Queen embodying the foregoing resolutions, and praying that Her Majesty may take such stops at may prevent the inhabitants of Australia, New •Zealand, and the inhabitants of the islands of the Pacific from being prejudiced in this vaster', .
