London, May 12. William Bkacii, the New South Wales oarsman, has arrived from
Australia. Heavy rains have fallen in the Midland counties. Large tracts of country are flooded. Serious damage to property is being occasioned in many districts. The s.s. lonic arrived at Plymouth on the 13th, from New Zealand. Her frozen meat is in good, condition. May 16.
The Executive Commissoners of the Indian and Colonial Exhibition were entertained at a banquet by the Fishmongers Company last night. The Duke of Cambridge, who was among the guests wjio spoke, expressed his opinion that the feeling of unity between the mother county and her colonies was never more strongly marked than at the present time. His Highness also announced himself as an advocate of federation of the Empire.
