PUKEKURA ROAD BOARD.

The first meeting of tho now board was held at tho Pukerium schoolroom on Friday last. Pi went:— Messrs Robt. Fisher, E. Allen, Joseph Gane, ' H. K|»8»lw and Andrew Wallace. On the motion of Mr H. Kusab«. seconded by Mr Andrew Wallace, Mr Joseph Gane was elected chairman. Mr Hugh Fitzgerald was reappointed clerk, treasnrer and collector. It was resolved that Messrs J. Gano, E. Allen, and the clerk be a Finance Committee to sign cheque*, &a. Retibemknt of Mkmbers.— In accordance with the amended Road Boards Act, a hi Hot was taken, and it was decided that Messrs Robt. Fisher and Andrew Wallace should retire at the end of the first year. ConuEai'ON'DKNOK. — A letter was received from Mr James Keeley, complaining of the natural outflow of water being stopped up* and doing him sonous damage, and threatening legal proceedings, unless the old course was opened up or a now one opened instead. It was resolved that the olerk inform Mr Keely that he should apply to the Waipa County Council, as tho road where the stoppage occurs is under their control. — A request was received from the same person fur leave to erect a fence on the road adjoining lot 319, Cambridge West. It was resolved that peruiis•ionybn granted on condition that the fence does not obstruct the traffic in any way. District Roads.— lt was resolved that MeaaryH. Kusabs, and Audrew Wallace look after the < roads on the west side of Walker's Gully, und Messr* Robert Fisher and E. Allen on the east side of the Gully, and that each committee be allowed n sum of £3 to expend in necessary repairs. It was also resolved that the clerk write to the District Engineer drawing his attention to the dangerous state of the bridge on the Ohaupo-Te.Roro roal ; that tho hill near tlie redoubt be cut down, Messrs Fisher and Allen to see! after the same; that Mystery Creek road be gravelled for about 40 chains. Messrs Fisher and Allen were authorised to see the County Engineer, and auk him to get come gravel put on the road, where dangerous at Hewitt's corner. Messrs Kusabs and Wallace were empowered to get about eight chains of the •tutiun road formed.
