CAMBRIDGE TOWN BOARD.
The usual monthly meeting was held on Tuesday, when the following commissioners were present : — Messrs Houghtun, Hewitt, and Gillett. ' CoKHitoPOXDEXCE : Thi: Borodgh Petition. — Mr G. W. Russell wrote to inform the board that a petition praying that Cambridge be brought under the Municipal Corporations Act, numeiou&ly signed, had been forwarded to his Excellency the Governor) and enclosed a copy of it for the consideration of the boaid. Piako County Council.— Mr Tuck, CJerk of the Piako County Council, wrote to notify the board that as the future meetings of tho council would be held at Hamilton, the board room would no longer be required. Advertising on Tkikghyph Poles.— The City Council of Chi i^tchurch wrote to the " Mayor of Cam bi id go," asking for co•peration with other local bodies in Now Zealand to protest against the proposal of tho Government to use the telegraph polw in the cities and towns as adiettiaiug mediums. It was urged that they were already sufliciontly unsisrhtly. Keiohed, that a reply be bent promising the board s support in the matter.
