CAMBRIDGE SCHOOL COMMITTEE.

The fiivt meeting of the new committee was held on Tuesday evening, when there mu a full attendance of members. It was resolved that the resolution adopted at the annual meeting of householders with a view to obtaining an alteration in the Act so as to fix the close of the financial year to 31st March in place of 31st December, be forwarded to the Education Board. There Appears to bo a sum of lid which has been lying at the bank to the credit of the committee, being proceeds of an entertainment held some six or t>even years ago. It wa<j decided to apply to the Board for a grant for £ for £ of that amount towards establishing a school library. It was resolved to requisition the Board for a new tank for the Head Master's house. A sub-com-mittee, consisting of the Chairman, MiHewitt, and Rev. Mr RUhsroith, was appointed to have the trees in the schoolf rounds trimmed and cut down. The toard notified the ommittee of the removal of Mr Parry to Tamahere, and the appointment in his place of Mr (t. G. Hill, from Kihikihi. The head-master rep>rted that the attendance on Monday was I'JO ; ono pupil had left and fifteen n*nv one 3 had been admitted dm ing tho quarter. In the High school there is an attendance of fourteen.
