A few strange horses and well-grown unbroken sold at increased values. Above an average number were submitted by auction at tho Durham Yards on Friday, and most found purchasers at prices up to tho expectation of vendors, but low-conditioued animals weie difficult to dispose of at figures ranging from £1 to £1. We quote : Hacks at from £4 to £13, light harness horses- fronn £11 to £14 10-1, d i aught colts, £14 15s to £10. Wool, hides, bkins and tillow: A good many hides were pitched at the D.uhain Yards on Tuesday, und sold afc from 3Jd to 4^d per lb, skins <Jd .to Is M each, tallow, £L 1 to £12 10s per ton. Cattlo : Activity has characterised the market; a good many have been brought forward and found purchasers at an advance on prices lately ruling. The Newmarket Yards were fairly filled on Tuesday, and a Hrgs numbsr were penned at PapjkuM on Wednesday. The demand for dairy cows has baen spirited, and values had an upward tendency. Steers fully maintained the previous month's values, and there was a further advance of fully 10s par head on fat oxen at the Newmarket Yards. We quote calves at from 15s to £1 Is, yearlings from £1 to £1 12s 6d, grown steers, £2 17s (id to £3 7s Gd. dry cows £1 10-* to £2 r>* Gd, beef 18s to £1 2* Gd per lOOlbs. Sheep : Below an average number were penned at Newmarket on Tueiday, and there was a slightly upward tendency in the price of good wethers, but indifferently fatted and ewes did not participate in it. Binxey axd Sons' Repout:—Atom- vjles on Tuesday last bidding was brisk for all descriptions of hound hides, especially for heavy well-conditioned butchers'. Greon salted hides realised up to 4dd par lb, dry salted 4td. Cow and ste°r hnlt>s, medium weights, reached 4d Kor lb. We quote: Dry salted prime eavics up to 4^d per lb, medium to 4\d, wet silted ox 4d to 4 \d, medium weights 3^d to 4(J, cowhides 3d to 3W. Damaged dull of sale. Local butchers' ox hides realised up to 27s (id each for extra hcavirs, 23s to 24s (ill for heavy, 20s to 21s 6d for medium weights ; local butchers' cow hides averaged 17s Gd each, calfskins up to 5s each, according to weight and condition.
