CAMBRIDGE JOCKEY CLUB.
The adjourned meeting of members of the Cambridge Jockey Club was held in the Town Board office on Thursday evening. There was a good attendance, and Mr J. P. Thomson occupied the chair. The Chairman wished to correct the impression that existed that the club had ceased to live. The business of the meeting was to appoint stewards and make other Arrangements for carrying on the club. Mr Forrest said the club bad hitherto gone beyond the income, inasmuch as they had offered £460 or £500 in prizes, when they could only afford £200. lie proposed that the meeting be held on the course now owned by Mr Carter ; that the subscription be one guinea ; that the rent and secretary's salary should not be made stood, and that no stewards bo the owners of horses. The Chairman did not agree to leave the rent and secretary's salary unpaid in the event of a deficiency.
