Waitetuna.
The annual meeting of householders in the W.iitetuna bchool district was held in school-house on Tuesday, April 27th, at 3 p.m. Mr W. H. Walhs was in the chair, and rend the annual re|)Oit, which showed that the funds had all been expended in improving the grounds round the school building by laying it down in grast and repairing fences. A balance of 7d was left in hand. The committee had much pleasure in reporting that the school waH btill a full time one. A strong condemnatory lesolution was carried re the action of the Board of Education in having decided to cover the roof* of the school and teacher's residence with iron, notwithstanding repeated protests and recommendations by the school committee that the roof be covered with shingles, as being more healthy fi r both children and teacher. A vote of thanks to the outgoing committee was carried by acclamation, after which the following householders were duly elected member* of the committee for the ensuing year :—Me-sr» W. H. W.illi-j, Wm. Robertson, W. P. C .g»well, J. C. Kin?, C. Moon, W. Gibbison, Jun., and J. K. McDonald. Mr Wallis w.is again elected chairman of committee, and resolutions were passed pointing out the necessity for putting now blocks under the buildings and for pointing before the winter fairly sets in. A vote of thanks to the chairman brought the meeting to a clese.
