CONCERT AT KIHIKIHI.
Tub concert in aid nf tin- funds (if the Roman Catholic Chinch was hold in the Town Hall, Kihikilu, <>n K.utU-r Monday evening, the Rev. F.ithei Luck in the chair. Owing to engagements in Auckland for the same evening, «otne i>f the ladies who were o\ pec ted from the city could not come. Miv Lorrigan, however, who had made ] arrangementa to miir here, unfortunately missed the train. The local ladies, howover, left little cause fur disappointment. Mratnd Miss Taylors aingiaic «',i- nmcli appreciated. Tlie other ladies and gentlemen who took part in ihe singing are so well and favourably known that comment on their performances is needless. In Mi«i MKsen we had an e\cellent performer on the piano. Mr (Jie>ham's reading, "Artemus Ward on Woman's Right*, '' was given in the inimitable ntyle peculiar to that gentleman, and elicited heaity laughter. The attendance was good, as usual, and after the concert dancing was kept up till far into the night. The following i» the programme :— Phnoforte rrcital, Miss Missen ; glee, " Home Again ;" .song* "Jessie's Dream," Mrs Dovlc; duet, •' Pulaski'H Banner," Mr and Miss Taylor ; 3ong, "Let me like a soldier fall," Mr Stanton ; song, "Take back the heart," Mrs Brien ; reading, "Artemu.s Ward on >Vomen's Rights," Mr Gresham ; »«ong, "Dream of Hope," Miss Taylor; song, "Wedding Bells," Mr MvMinn ; wmg, "Thy voice is near," Miss Finch; pianoforte recital, Miss Missen ; duet, "L&rboard Watch." Mr and Mi^s Taylor ; «ong, "Thy Face, Mr Stanton ; song, " Dear Little Shamrock," Miss Taylor; song, " Nil Desperandum," Mr Brien ; duet, •'The Wind and the Harp," MesdameH Doyle and Brien; song, "The Standard, Miss Taylor; song, "To-morrow, Miss Finch. This concluded the concert, and the room was cleared for dancing, the music being contributed by the Te Awamutu Band, under Mr Sibley.— (Own Correspondent. )
