WHERE'S FORREST ?
TO THK EDITOR. Sir,— ThU is a quefetion frequently naked in connection with the Narrows ro.id. Half the embankment has to my knowledge been washed away for the last three weeks. If this is the way a con tract- tr h allowed to maintain the main roads, I think he will make rather a good thing out of the ratepayers. It seems monstrous such n mantrap should be allowed to remain on a main road so long, and stranger still no accident has occurred. I suppose after some poor unfortunate has rolled with his trap and horse to the bottom, Mr F wrest will at last turn up.— l am, youra obediently, TIUVELLER.
