Your report of the last meeting of the Piako County Council, and your louder on the same, advocating the rights of Te Aroha, have given great satisfaction here. HU Lordship Bishop Luck, preached to a larga congregation, At To Aroha on Sunday, and was attentively listened to. Mr D. M. Beere, Resident Engineer, returned to Te Aroha on Saturday, after visiting the line of road now being surveyed, ; over "Thompson's Pass" to connect To Aroha with Tauranga by coach road. When made it will be a tirst class grade. The Government have • party of. men employed repairing the bridges and culverts, on the old track from Te Aroha to Katikati ■o as to keep it open for traffic, until the new road over Thompson's Pass is made. The new road when made will come out oa the main road about 6 mile* near Tauranga, than the present old trick.
