ALLEGED MURDER ON THE HIGH SEAS.
At Falmouth recently Antonio Sach, a Mexican seaman, serving on board the barque Nicosia, was charged with the wilful murder of Harry Wilson, second mate of that ship. The witness prored that the two men quarrelled on the morning of the 23rd ult. over an order which Wilson had given as to taking in the sail; that Sach, who was greatly irritated, drew a large knife, the blade of which he drove with great force into the mate's chest. Wilson exclaimed, 'The wretch has put a knife into me,' and dropped dead on the deck. The captain, who was below at the time, took the knife from the prisoner, who at once admitted that he had done the deed, and added—' He will never strike another man.' It} was sought to be shown in defence that WiUon struck the first blow, but the witnesses denied this. The prisoner was committed for trial.
