We quote : Hack", from £4 to £6 1O» ; light draught horses, from £15 to £19 10s ; fowls, Is 2d to Is lOd each. —At Ohau|>o on Tuesday, April Oth, nearly * 1000 head of cattle were yarded, a large number being steers. Prices were a bit lower than the previous sale, but the greater part sold. Very few young stock were yarded, and little demand, except for yearling heifer*, which elicited keen competition. Dairy cows are still required. AH at this sale were well competed for, and sold at satisfactory prices. There wan An Average number entered for disposal by auction at the Durham Yards on Friday. There wai an active demand throughout the sale, and moat of the lots were cleared, and in several instancesmdvanced rates wore given. We quote hacks from £5 to £14 10s, light harness huraes from £8 to £13 10s ; draughts ' £25. Wool, hides, and skins : Hides were in moderate supply. For good heavy there remained an unsatisfied demand at from 4d to 4Jd per Ib, station from 3d to 3Jd, skint It 3d to 2* Cattle; Alarm numttti bare changed hatods'' during the week, stores were in Rood demand, dairy stock maintained their value, and wellfatted oxen were * shade higher. The (Newmarket and Papalcura yards were both well filled. Competition at both sales was vvood. Prices for young store steers were in \ favour of the vendor, also for grown steers. Dairy cows without alteration. We quote •vialves from 15s to 255, yearling steers from 20s to 30s, grown steers from £3 10a to £4 $s, beef 14s to 20s. Fat sheep were yarded ■t Newmarket in average numbers, with a - slight advance in value compared with pre- " vious week. Fat wethers sold at from 10s ntd to 13s yd. Lambs were scarce, and uot I of such good quality as on previous week, ' selling at from 6s 6d to 10s 6d. Fodder was in usual supply, prices ranged from 2s to 4s 6d the cwt, chaff 4« 6d to 4s 9d the cwt., oats 2s 8d the bushel. At the hide and skin sale ou Tues- ' day, hides ranged up to 4\d, calfskins 4Jd the lb, pelts up to 2s Id each. Wool in grease sd, scoured 6{jd the lb. At the Waiuku cattle sale on Saturday last the - yards were filled with stock. There was a full attendance of settlers, and prices for ■tore cattle, particularly young stock, good. At, Pukekohe on Monday there was a full muster of cattle, generally in fresh condition, with a considerable number of yearling steers. There was good competition throughout ths sale, and satisfactory prices obtained. At Remuera, on Thursday, dairy cattle were in good demand at a considerable advance over last week's values, store cattle at late prices, fat cattle in full number and were dull of sale, but maintained last week's values— from 15s to 18s the lOOlbs. Sheep in average supply. The Leicester ewes brought 10s 6d each, store wethers from 7« to 8s 9d, fat wethers 9s to 13«, fat ewes 7s to 93, lambs,fg6s to 8s each ; store pigs plentiful, and lower in price than of late.
