[RKDTEB's TKI.RCRAMS.I (Received April SU, 1 10 p.m.) Melbourne, Monday. The operation of the Factories Shops Act is being followed by continually increasing nightly disturbances in the Collingwood and Fitz* roy districts. A number of shop assistants and larrikins, resenting the keeping open of those shops which, in accordance with municipal l>ye-laws are exempted from the provisions of the Act, assembled on Frid.iy and Saturday nights. Getting together a large crowd, they paraded the streets in the suburbs named, smashing the windows of the obnoxious tradesmen, and generally behaving in a riotous manner/ The police were greatly out-numbered and powerless to prevent the outrages. A recurrence of the disturbance is feared to-night, and precautions have accordingly been taken by the authorities.

(Received April sth, 12.30 p.m.) Sydney, Monday. Sailed, Saturday afternoon : The Wakatipu, for Wellington. The Sydney Morning Herald makes a suggestion to-day to insure a settlement of the political question that the Government should meet Sir Henry Parkes' motion referring to the New Hebrides by moving the previous question instead of taking the resolution as a vote of censure.
