CAMBRIDGE DOMAIN.

The Cambridge Domain Board is prosecuting with vigour the course of permanent improvements that have bean planned out, and whioh, under Mr Brown, the contractor, are transforming the surroundings of Te Koutou Lake into spots of beauty and interest. Some twenty-two chains of ground around the margin of the lake have been cleared and sloped off, with a broad walk. Grass has been laid down, and has already come up well on tho reclaimed land, on which various ornamental trees are growing, and in a healthy condition. A considerable amount of work has still to be done this season in the shape of ploughing, clearing, and laying down in grass. The fruits of past labour and expenditure are now becoming perceptible in the fine green appearance of the sward by which the lake is bordered, and the amount of growth to which the trees, which have been liberally planted all over the propeity, have attained. The flower-beds and shrabberries are neat and tastefully arranged, and the whole combine to make the Cambridge Domain one oC the prettiest spots out of Auckland. To Mr T. Wells, the chairman of the board, who is an ardent lover of horticulture and landscape gardening, the domain is indebted for its present advanced state of cultivation, and for his personal supervision and activity in designing and prosecuting the works.

Special attention is directed to the ne\* adTCrtisement of Messrs Dcy and French, Hamilton East. Attention is directed to Messrs A. Lijbournc and Co's adverti-croent re clearing out sale oi seeds, &.c.
