- GREYMOUTH, Wednesday. , Dr McCarthy, vrhile riding on horseback at Taylorville yesterday, was thrown through the animal shying. His foot caught in the stirrup and he was dragged about 10 yards. He was bleeding yery freely, when picked up, and his skull was fractured. He now lies at the hospital in a precarious condition.

THAMES, Wednesday. A man named Christopher Acre, employed on Ehrenfried's farm, Puriri, was badly gored by a bull this afternoon, sustaining serious injuries.
