Lawrence Wright, a prisoner undergoing sentence in connection with the Neuthoiu tragedy, was charged with being mutinous. The evidence given showed that he refused to go to -work, lying down and making fun of the other prisoners. When on the hulk iv the evening, he was only to receive half rations, but he snatched full allowance from the cook's hand, and refused te give it up. For the defence ifc was contended that prisoner was asked to go to work on a face where a slip had taken place, but offered to work elsewhere. The bench reserved its decision. There are about 19 other charges against the prisoner. The Minister of Mines left on an overland journey via Haast Pass to the West Coast this afternoon.
