Auckland, Monday Night. Another Railway Station Robbery. Pukkkohe railway station waa broken into on Saturday night or Sunday morning, and a safe containing £25 was carried bodily away. It was subsequently found a quarter of a mile away near the railway line, the burglars having evidently failpd in the attempt to break it open. Suspected PoisoningA woman named Askew died at Newmarket on Saturday night under circumstance* loading to.thfe suspicion that ab« had beeifpoiftohAd. It is^aid she took a-dose of laudanum on-Friday morning and illness resulted * therefrom which terminated fatally, She was attended by Dr. Ooonif An lbqueat on her bpdy takes place tonight. The police view.^f the matter is that it is a caw of suicide. Major Atkinson's Arrival. Major Atkinson has arrived and delivers an address at the Theatre to-morrow. Alleged Unlawfully Wounding The case in which Alexander Oulbert wa« charged with unlawfully wounding his -father by striking him on the head with a glass tumbler came on for hearing at the Police Court at noon to-day. After hearing the evidence the Court dismissed the charge. Arrival of the German Squadron. The German squadron, consisting of the warships BUun<aok, Gneisenan and Olga, arrived to-day. The 'Frisco Mail. The Alameda arrived to-day with the outward San, Francisco mail, after a very rapid passage from Sydney. Qi9 Excellency the GovernorThe Governor and family, now on their way hither from Wellington, are expected to arrivj, via, tho Manukau, on Wedueyday, morning. In order .to Accord the Governor a fitting reception it has beta arranged to call out,the volunteer force.
