At the Durham Yards, on Friday, an unusually large number .were „ entered for disposal by auction. .Competition was good throuijhout the sale, land .nearly all the lots were cleared. The "feargo from Taranaki elicited a .spirited demand. "We quote hacks at from £5 5s to £12 10-s; light harness, from £7 to £14} draughts, from £25. Wool, hides, and .•skins: Moderate number pitched. We -sold hides, from 3£d to 4£d ; wool, 5.Jd to ' s?d : Bkins, from lOd to 2s lOd each. . Cattle : i A large number particularly of stores, have changed hands without alteration in value. The Newmarket Yards . r Were completely filled, on Tuesday; The ' 'demand was brisk throughout, the' sale. Store prices reached the expectation of vendors,' leaving but a small prospective margin for the grazier. Dairy cowb advanced slightly in price, and fat beasts remaitied at the previous week's values on ,the average, although there was considerable, fluctuation. Sheep: There w»s a full muster at Newmarket on Tuesday, ' with little or no alteration in values as compared with the previous week. Wethers sold at from 10s to 13s 3d; ewes, from ?s 6d to Us. Lambs were scarce, and sold at from 9s to 13s. Pigs were yarded in limited number, and sold at X from 2£d to 3£d per lb Jijve weight. , Messbs G. W. BijjfNEy. and Co. report that at their sale of hides, skins, and tallow, a large supply came to hand, and the demand throughout was brisk, and competition keen for all lots offered.
