THK FcitlK NVis^cb, &c. — The engineer rejiortod tliat the road between Cambridge antfthe Mangaone creek wrs beenrnin^ obstructed by the growth of furze, biiar, &c. ; and also that the poplars were spreading at Haut.ipu, aud the willpws and acacias wero likely to become a nuisance at Mattyn's Uully. The r>.td at Ewen's Hill required to bo cleared ot furze. The Auckland Agricultural Company h&d erected a fence across tho road near Fencourt, which cut off the traffic and was improper. No. 2 station road would have to be cleared of the thistles — Tho board resolved that nnticei be served on all owners of properties to remove obstruction 1 ? to traffic Huoh as furze, briar, brambles, &c, otherwise the board would have the work done at the owner's expense*.— The clerk was instructed to write to the Auckland Agricultural Company to remove the fence erected by them acro«a the road pasdfn£ 'section 163 from Fencourt roid to Victoria road. — Mr Jas. Bailey, manager of the Auckland Agricultural Company, wrote, drawing the board's attention to the state of the road from Brown's corner to Fencourt, and asked that it be formed and made passable. This was a portion of the road from KiteS cottage and known as the "Zigza»" road. — Mr J. R. S. Richardson ■wan .luthorined to arrangu about levelling the mounds on Kite'a road from the town belt to the junction with the Fencourt road. Ditches Destroyed,— Mr Richardson referred to the condition of the ditches on several roads which were beaten down and choked by strayed cattle, and asked if any action could be taken. — After discussion the board gave Mr Richardson leave to fence such drains running across the roads in his district, making, as it were, wings to the bridges or culverts to protect the ditches from cattle. In answer to a question it was inserted that no one conld cut a drain across or alongside any rood without first obtaining the board's consent thereto in writing. Finance.— The Clerk reported that the amount to the board's credit at the bank w.is £280 1(K Main Road Maintenance.— The Engineer stated that Mr A. Forrest had not yet completed his bond for the maintenance of the main road, and obtained authoiity to notify to him to do so at once, or the agreement would be cancelled. Accounts. — The following accounts were passed for payment :— Thos. Pennell, £1 19s"G3! Russell, '£1 5s ; Jas. McPheraon, £5 *10s 9d ; ' W. (i. Lennox, 5s lOd ; Messrt Coijltjmr'd B/ob., £8 ss; W. Souter, £3; T. Cas s idy,*£B 10s ; T. G. Sandes, £8 Is 6d. This was all the business.
