A mass meeting of the unemployed was held in Jlyde Park to-day, under the auspices of the Socialist organisation. There was an enormous attendance, fully forty thousand persons being present. Speeches were made, condemning the proposal to establish relief works for the unemployed. Burns, a leading Socialist, against whom proceedings have been taken in connection with the late disturbances, in the course of his address, predicted that bloodshed wbtild ' ensue unless the social reforms asked for were granted. There was a large police force on the ground and in the neighbourhood, but their services were not called into requisition, as the assemblage- dispersed in au orderly manner.
