"J.C.," Hamilton East, writes:— "To the Editor. Sir,— Kindly answer the following question in your notices to correspondents :— What year did the great flood take place in the Waikato River, when the Cambridge Bridge was swept away ?" —The flood occurred in the year 1875. It began to rain at about G o clock on the evening of Wednesday, the Bth December, aud continued for three days and nights. The biidge carried away on the Friday night.
