Melbourne, Feb. 12. It is expected that Messrs Service aud Berry will tender their formal resignation early next week and Parliament will dissolve about the 20th of February.
Sydney, Feb. 12. The Government have resolved to abandon the proposed scheme of taxing stocks held by merchants in warehouses and stores. A somewhat serious collision took place outside the Heads at an early hour this morning between the steamers Newcastle and Naomi There was a thick fog, which prevented the vessels seeing each other. The Newcastle sustained a considerable amount of damage, while the injury to the Naomi was slight.
