A REMARKABLE OCCURRENCE.

Bkinkmau', tho seat of Lord A. Hill Trevor, was recently the scene of a remarkable occurrence. On the return of the family from church it was di»coveied that most of the valuable paintings in the dining-room hud been cut and slashed iv a mobt malicious manner. In the plate room, too, the silver spoons, folks, bilvor dishes, and covera were thrown upon the floor and ••tamped upon until they were completely without form and fit only for the tneltin? pot. No one in the mansion admitted any knowledge of the occurrence, nnd the whole affair remains a mystery. The police were immediately communicated with, but beyond the dismissal of several t-eivants nothing has been done. The matter lias been kept very quiet, and has only now leaked out. It is a remarkable coincidence that a short time ago the family diamonds disappeared in a most mysterious manner, and have never since bren heard of. Latest intelligence is to the effect that, despite the unremitting efforts of the police, no clue has been found to the real offenders.
