Melbourne, Monday. The Government are in receipt of a telegram from tho Secretary of State for the Colonies to tho effect that he has no change to report in Samoan affairs and that Germany has renewed her former assurances that the annexation of those islands was not intended. Referring to the New Hebrides, Colonel Stanley states that England adheres to her previous understanding in regard to Raiheta by which it was agreed that the French flag should be hoisted on the islands on condition that British ships be placed on an equal footing with the traders from other nations.
