Thb annual sports and picnic in connection with the Kibikihi school took place on Tuesday. Mr Ifuiunnger(the head teacher) worked most indefatig.ibly in promoting the general enjoyment of all pra>ent, and was ably supported by his assistants and the committee. Too much cannot be said of Mrs Maunders, Mrs W. Bond and the other ladies to whom the excellence of the refreshment department is due. Mr Sibley's band attended and added much to the enjoyment of the entertainment. A baby-show wa« organised and pro\ed an unqualified huccc»h. Tho number of exhibits wiw thirteen. The follow ing are the names of the &ucce«sfure\hibitor*> : — Ist prize.— Best all-round baby. Mrs Clifford. 2nd prize. — Mra Jennings. 3rd prize. — Mrs Soaper. The arduous duties of judge of the babies were efficiently performed by Mr Gre>»ham.
