NAPIER, Saturday. At an adjourned meeting yesterday of persons interested in the growth and manufacture, of tobacco, it was resolved that a limited liability company be formed to grow and manufacture tobacco in Hawke's Bay, with i capital of £3000 in 1000 shares of £3. A provisional directory was appointed. It was resolved that on the sale of 3000 shares, the company be registered. Mr H. Vollbracht was elected provisional director.

CHRISTCHURCH, Saturday. The Premier arrived from Wellington this morning, and went South after a very short stay. Sunday. Mr Hulbert has received a telegram that the Snmoan chiefs will be unable to accept his invitation to visit Christchurch, as time will not permit of their coming South.

OAMARU, Saturday. At the trial of reapers and binders, held under the auspices of the N.O.A.P. Association, the McCormick was placed first, the Reid and Grey second, and the Howard third.
