THE HOWARD - GODFREY CONSPIRACY. [BY TELEGRAPH— PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Christchurch, Monday.
Ghristchurch, Monday. Mr and Mrs Howard and the two (iodfreys were brought up again at the Police Court this morning, on a charge of conspiracy to defraud. There are forty-five witnesses. The Crown prosecutor said ho would show that tho female prisoner wa-> not Howard's wife, and that Howard met the Godfreys at Taylors Mistake on the d.iy when the hand was found, also that when Godfrey met his brother at the Police station, he said, "Hullo Fred, you had better make a clean breast of it." After taking evidence proving that Howard took out policies and had transferred them to Mrs Howaid, the Court adjourned until tomorrow.
