BURGLARY AT ALEXANDRA.
Our correspondent, writing on Tuesday, Hays : — Mr J. D. Hill's store was burglariously entered last night and robbed. The thief or thieves are supposed to have committed the offence about two o'clock a.m.. as at about that time Mrs Walker, who resides next door, heard a disturbance of dogs barking. The store was entered by the fanlight, over the entrance doors of the store, by breaking the glass. A case that stood under the verandah found a ready means of reaching it. Mr Hill only misses a shawl and an amount of three pounds in money, consisting of about two pounds in silver and one pound of coppers. As yet the guilty party has not been found out.
Ail important notice re the Te Awainntu Public Pound appears in another column. Mr T. L. Cox of Cambridge announces that he will open a branch of his wellknown boot and shoe establishment at Kihikihi for a few days. See advertisement. Messro W, .T. Hunter and Co. will sell at Ohaupo on Tuesday, the 2Gth, a large number of stock of various descriptions. A wonderful cure for rheumatism and allied complaints is advertised in another column,
