CHRISTCHURCH, Saturday. A fisherman named Archd. Harper, has been missing since Wednesday night. liis boat was found on the beach, and he .s supposed to have been drowned.
Monday. Chas. Lock wood, who has been for 12, months' employed in prospecting in the vicinity of Browning's Pass committed suicide there on Saturday. He had been low spirited for Rnme days.
INVER(KRGILL, Monday. On Saturday, three brothers named Kidd aud a young-man named Gorman, wetv battling in the Makarawa river near Fotest Hill. John Kidd got out of hia • leptli in a deep pool, and his brother Henry and Gorman wont to his assist* ■ince All got into a dangerous position, and Chas. Kidd tried to save them. He xtended a long stick which thsy caught, but Henry Kidd, aged 27, was unable to retain his hold and was drowned. Tho others were brought ashore all right.
ROSS, Saturday. A fatal accident occurred this morn* ing at the Greenland Gold Mining Company's mine to a man named Erasmus Jacobsen. While at work a large slip came down suddenly and crushed him, itu\ tore off one of his feet. Jacobaen was removed to the Hospital, where he died.
