WAIKAfO MARKKAS. Messrs W. J. Hun nut and Co., report at the Cniiibrio'go Ynids on Thursday, January 7th there was a laiga number of good store cattlo, also some choice beef yarded ; for stores thero was Rood competition and nearly all sold, only a Hunted number of beef and sheep sold to the local 'trade- We quote 1J and 2-year-old sfacn, £2 4i Cd to £3 2s; heifers, £1 5* to £2; •tore cows, £2 to £2 7s 6d ; fat cows, £4 to £sos; fat sheep, 9s each. At the horse yards on Saturday, January 9th, there was again a large number of horses brought forward, for active draughts and useful hacks and ponies, there was a good compaction, and a good number changed hands. Hacks, £0 to £9 sa; ponies from £2 to £3; light harness horses, £12 to £L">. At the Obaupo Yards on Tuesday last, 12th inst., thero was a full mmter of cattle of all descriptions, and a very largo attendance. A good many being buyers of young stock, some good steers from orie to two-year-old ~> met good enquiry, and all sold with the exception of two pens ; there was keen "'•competition for the Morimutu cattle, being principally speyed heifera. Dairy cows were but poorly represented, and yarded insufficient for requirements. Many can still be placed. Only one lot of wethers brought forward, which were sold at low price, viz.: 7s Gd ; we still have several lots for sale at low prices if wanted. We quote: Dairy cwwa, £4 to £5 ss; store cows. £115 a to £2 10s ; spayed heifers, £2 12s to £2 15a Gd ; steer calves and yearlings, £1 12-j to £2 8s ; 1^ to two-year-old steers, £2 10s to £3 1*; three and four-year-old steers, £4 to £5; fat cows and heifers, £3 12s Gd to £4 each. Wo also have disposed of, by private contract, 120 spayed heifers from Morimutu, £2 12i Gd each ; upstanding hack, £19 10a; 150 acres of land at Ohaupo, £6 per acre.
