Several weio withdrawn. Those Hold brought from £3 to £4 10s each ; a few of good quality, from £f> to £7 sa; and choice heifers, £5 5s each. Storo cattle were in fair inquiry. Yearling steer* brought from 40s to 4.»; two-year steers, 50s to 57s 6d each; throe-year steera, 77s tid each. Fat calves abundant, and ranged from 12s to 243 each. Fat cattle in full number; 240 head sold. Best quality steers, medium weight, brought 203 the 1001ns; medium quality steers and cowa from Hss to 18s Fat sheep were plentiful. Merino wethers, well fatted, brought 9s 6d ; longwoolled wethers, 12s to 14s; crossbred wethers, 9s 6d to lls each; and well-fatted ewon, from 8s to 13s each. Lambs abundant, of good quality, and sold equally throughout the sal<». They realised from 7s to 12s, averaging 9s each. About 400 sold. Porkers were in moderate supply, and in fair inquiry. They brought from 19d to 30a each. , Messrs. Huntrbavd Nol\n\s Weekly Report.—Horses : Thoro has been a good deal doing in the market, and prices had a •lightly upward tendency. The Stud Company's annual sale was the great attraction, and with one or two exceptions, anticipated prices were fully realised. The usual weekly salo was held on Wednesday, the 30th December, and as there was no < aale held the previous week, there was a large muster at the Durham Yards. Steady competition, and in nvtst instances sales were effected, although in many instances the expectation of vendors was not realised ; •till there was an advance of from 10s to 50s, as compared with the previous sale. The arrangements for the annual sale of thoroughbred yearlings at Sylvia Park were very complete, and the yearliners were brought forword in their most marketable form, eliciting keen competition, and had it not been for some few nurslings that, but for tender care, would not have reached the anniversary of their birthday, the average would have been a high one. Prices have been already published, and range from 40 guineas to 850 guineas. Wool, hides and skins: There were no hides and skins sold this week, but the third wool sale of the series was held on Thursday. There were no fresh buyats, but prices had a slightly upward tendency, ranging from 5$ to 5d 15-16ths per lb. Cattle: The supply has been barely sufficient for requirements. There was a slight increase in value of fat beasts, but other descriptions remained unaltered. Loss than an average number were yarded at Newmarket on Tuesday, but there was a good muster at Papakura on Wednesday, Dairy and store stock were dull of sale, but there was an upward tendency in price for well fatted animals, 22s per lOOlbs having been given for top sort of local cattle. There was nn noteworthy alterations in dairy and store stock. Sheep: Tbpre was a moderate muster at Newmarket on Tuesday. Competition was good, wethers ranged from 9s to 15s Gd ; ewes, 8s to 13s ; lambs in adequate supply, prices ranged from 7s to 14s Cd. Pigs in short supply, no alteration in value.
