K.U'IKR, Tuesday. A prm.K' meeting under the presidency ot the Muyor was held to-night to rai»e funds for the burnt out bush settleis. Over £250 was pronii&ed in the rnmn, which, added to o\er £100 previously raised by the Herald and other lists will tnnke a, total of over £400. It h expected that £1000 will be rai>ed locally, in addition to £500 promised by the Government through Mr Ballancc. Another biff fire has broken out at Makatokti. Gundiie's mill and all the workmen's dwellings are burnt, and further damige is feared.
