It looks as if wo might soon be able to ob» tain the staff of life from (he limbs of the cotton ticc. A French student of botany claims to have discovered in cotton tree seed a new imtntious matter, presenting somemost lemaikahlc features in its composition. An analjsis of the seed of the cotton troe, of which several varieties are cultivated in Bolivia, shows that this is the richest of nil known giains in nitrogenous substances. Ho is convinced that cotton tree "seed will mako a flour destined to take an imnoi f int place as a ioo.l foi man.
