Thia machine works on the Hamo principle ea tho au^er used for round holes. Ins'.jad of having a scrow or bit at tho end, it hag a oam-motion whioh oscillates a cutter mounted on a etcd rocking-kmfe which cuta on both sides. The endn of the cutter are provided with BirmU semicircularphaped saw^, which help the cutting out the equate corners, nnd prevent tho splintering or splitting of tho wood. Mach time and labour will be oaved by thia clever process, for a square raortifK can bo cut by thi3 plan in no more tiujo than waa required to cut a round One.
