The s.b. To Anau sailed this afternoon for the Bluff. The s.s. Manapouri arrived today from the Bluff. [Reccued December 16th, 1 p.m ] Melhourxe, December 16. A public funeral of the remains of the late General Scratchley took place at the St. Ivikla. cemetery at 10 o'clock this morning. The ceremory was of a very solemn and imposing character. The various Australasian colonies were numerously and influenti.illy represented. The funeral obsequies were performed by the Bishop of Melbourne. The procession, which was very lengthy, included two metropolitan battalions of the Victoi ian Infantry Militia. There was a large attendance of the general public to do honour to General Scratchley's memory. Sydney, Dec. 16. In the House of Representatives last night Sir John Robertson brought forward a vote of censure on the Government for their budget proposals. After considerable discussion the debate was adjourned as the Government were unprepared for the motion. The proceedings during the evening were of a lively character personalities being freely exchanged between several speakers.
