Phakton in the Herald says :— Little wagering took place on Saturday over the Auckland Cup and Steeplechase. Kirly in the day, without appirently any great amount of money being wi itten against his name, Stotiyhurst sprang from 3 to 1 to 5 to 2, at which price he now stands quoted. Woodnymph was supported to win 200 at 15 to 1, and 200 to 12 was nlso accepted about .Soudan. In the double (Cup and Steeplechase) 500 to lii was taken about Stonyhtirst and Shotover.
