Dunkiun, Saturday. The fir^t day of tho D.J.C. Spring Meeting opened with excellent weather. The attendance was not up to expectation! 1 * but was fairly good. But for an accident in the hurdle race e\eiything passed off satisfactorily. Tlie following jire the results :— D.J.C. Huudlk Rvck of 70sovg. Mosm-s. M. and C. Hobb's Bordcrnian 1 Mr P. Murphy's Marquis . . . . 2 Mr W. \V. (Jrcencr's Trapper . . 3 Rocket (1(U 21b^). Foreman (Ost 121bs), Silver King (!)->t lOlbs), Little John (9at 71bs), Temuka (9*t 71bs) also started. Foreman and Marquis cut out the running 1 , but at the second hurdle the former Btruck, and, throwing hu. \ ider, toppled over and fell heawly on him. Tune, 3mins. O^secs. Dividend. Inside, £3 Bs> ; outside £3. Felhiitn .Tone*, rider of Foreman, was unconscious for some time, but hopes are entci tamed of his reco\ery.
