Mr Vlfrkd BrcKL\xn's Rkpokt.—At tho Havmaxket on Friday last, best quality hay Hold better ; one load reached 4s 3d the cwt. Boans brought 3s 2d, oats, 2d 3d to 2s 6d ; maize, 3* to 3s 3d the bughsl. Horse stnck were y.irdod in full number*, and there being a draft of young, sound hornet, Fold frcelv, medium draught ranged from £15 to £27; light harness, £8 to £11. At tho usual H.ile of hides, skins, wool and tallow on Tuesday, hides were pitched in average number, sound quality brought from 3d to 3Jd the 1b ; tallow, 12a 6d the cwt. Station skins were also in full number, pricei ranged from 1« 3d to 2s lOd each ; small parcels of wool 5d to . r >^d the lb. At tho cattle sale at Papevkura on Wednesday thore was a larger muster than for many months. Stock of all kinds were in brisk demand at full values. At Remuera, on Thursday, not many dairy cattle were yarded. Thoso were at late values. Store cattle were plentiful, and mostly of a good class (well-bred, grown steers in fresh condition): tho«e brought an average of £5. Other kinds of cattle were al«o in demand at full rates. Fat cattle in full number .«nd dull of sah*. Many were withdrawn. Heavy arrivals during the week from the coast (principally from Waitara), in all exceeding 200 he.id, has ocii^ioned a fall in price of about 2s the lOOlbs ; prices ranged from 18-, to 21s the IOOIbH. Shcop were in aveiage numbers and in better enquiry than List week, 701b whethers at 13s. Lambs maintained their price. Store pigs were in better enquiry than for some time. F.it pigs at late values.
Miwhiih. Hunter and Nolans Weekly Report.— Horses : There has been a mode rate amwunt of animation in the market, and about the usual number changed hand*. The Wanganui horses elicited a little excitement at auction, although the expectations of shippers were barely realised. There wa* a (rood muster at the Durham Yards on Friday. Bidding was fairly brink, and most of the lots were cleared. Wo quote : Hacks, from £2 ("is to £13 ; light harness hoises. £') to fcl4 10s ; draught horses, £25. Wool: Our first sale of the season wan held on Monday. Many buyers were- present, and competition \v,is good, but prices were restricted to (> 7 lOd for greasy, while one lot only realised s\d. No washed wool was pitched. Skins sold at from la 2d to 2s 7d ; hides at 3jjd per lb. Cattle : .Sufficient for requirements have been brought forward, and a steady demand demand has existed. Tho price for fat stock wm barely <ustained, but other kinds were unaltered. The Newmarket yards on Tuesday were well filled ; competition was steady throughout. Dairy and store stock fully maintained the previous week's values, but fat beasts receded about 5s per head. Sheep: There was again a good muster at Newmarket, and prices continued in favour of purchaser-*, although the pre\imirt week's values weie fully sustained — wethers realising from ]1« to IGs Gd ; ewes, from 9s to 12s (id. Lambs were plent'ful, and sold at from 5s to 12s (id. Pigs were in full supply, and good porkers realised 3£d per lb live weight ; rough pigs, 2Jd per lb.
Mkhkrs (}. W. Binney and Co. report that at their sale of hides, sheepskins, and tallow, » fair supply came to hand. The deinaud for heavy hides continues, but inferior hidea are dull of bale. We quote : l'iri»t-class, 3j|d to 4Jd ; medium, 3d to 3jd ; inferior, ityd to 2^d ; calfskin^, 3d to 3d per lb ; flheep-ikins, 2s to 3s 2d ; lamb-ikiim, Gd ; pelts, 2d each ; tallow, 12s (id to 14a per cwt ; bones, 4>i Gd each.
