MR GOLDER IN EXPLANATION. TO THE EDITOR.

Srit, — I sco <i strange report liai got into your paper of Saturday, 14th, about Edith OHiornian's lecture, in which I nin supposed to h.iv c •said that a hook vvould shortly be published, itc, dealing with the assertions of the "Ksdppd Nun, ' in which they would learn something. I made no such statement, but after the lecture began, a part of the Roman Catholic doctrines wan misrepresented, and as I roso to explain, I was greeted with cries of " »it down," " tuin him out," &c. The chairman ruled that if I had any questions to put I mut>t wait till the end of the lecture. I did so, and dm ing the course of it there were, to my nnnd, s, ( many misrepresentations of the teaching of the Catholic Church th*t it would be useless to attempt any explanations of the assertions made, as time vvould not pei nut. So at tho conclusion, when I w. is called on for my remark-., I replied that v\ hen I came I did intend to ask questions, but after so many misrepresentations I declined, but vvould state for the information of all, that if they went to any Catholic bookseller and got any book treating on Catholic doctrine, they would find it conti.idicfc noiiily every assertion made. Aftei moi c oonv ers.ition when I got up thfl lost time, the chairman ruled that I must sit down and, though 1 asked, I was refused another opportunity to t-peak, because the meeting had lasted long enough. Hoping you will kindly insert this in the interest of tair play — I remain yours truly, JvMKt. (iOLDKR. Canibridgo, November Kith, 1885.
