Tho meeting opened with singing 1 , and prayer by the lle\. M. La wry. The Ch in man read some buef evtiacts fiom tho lopmt of the missionary committee for 18SK Tlio icpoit showed that very good work indeed was being done by the Home .Mi-sion Aw>cntion tlnoughout the colony, j both among the Maoris and Europeans. It was .shown that much more work could bo done, if funds wcie asailable. After anotliei hymn was sung tho Ch.iuni.in called upon tho Rev. 8. Lasvry (of Fiuukhn cucuit), to address tho meeting. The Rev gentleman delivered an eaine-st addict, uigmg his heaiers to individual and united elf oit for extending the Homo Mission woik. Tlie addiess was listened to with gioat attention, and was delneicd with telling eirett. Another hymn was sung. The *':haii man called upon the Rev. W. (Jittos to addiess the niccting upon the Maoii woik in connection with "Woslcyan Church in New Zealand. Mi (httos \eiy soon gained the hearts of his heaier*, and bustiined tho interest of the meeting, through an effective speech upon his work ..among the Mam is. The natives have a very warm place in tho hooifc of Mi 'dittos. No man in New Zealand undr-i-stinds Maori character bcttm* than this lni-sionary ; and no man has the confidence of the natives in a larger moasiuo. Tim Ng.miawahia friends will bo gl.id to listen to Mr Gittos again, A collection was made in aid of the Home Mission Fund, amounting to £2 3a sd. Tho Chairman closed the meeting by calling upon Mr Gittos to pronounce the benediction. A similar meeting was hold in tho Weslcyan Church, Hamilton, on Wednesday c\ cuing. The Rev. J. Dellow, after devotional cxeicises, colled Mr A. Campbell to the ohair. Mr Campbell, in a few lcm-uk", oxpiessod his deep sympathy with tho Wesioyan Mission work, and indeed mission work in general. He had seen the good fruit of missionary tuil both in New Zealand and the Islands. He said it was tho duty of every Chi isti.in to do all they could to help on tho work. At tho close of the Chairman's address, the Rev. «T. Bellow hud before the mooting a few extracts from the loport for 1884. Last year the Hamilton Circuit raised £17 10s 2d towards the Home Mission Fund. This year they are asked to raise £18, and with a little organii-ed effort, this oan easily be done, Veiy interesting addresses were delheied bytheßov. W. Gittos and S. Lawiy. A collection was made amouut'ng to €1 «"s 3d towards the mission fund. Tho collections last Sunday amounted to £2 f>s sd. These, together with the collections in other p.nts of the circuit, Sunday-school Mission bow, and subscriptions by friends will bung the income pretty well up to the amount c\p»ctod. Meetings aic also to bo hold at Hukanui and Huntly.
